There is also a pub onsite with a beer garden they also serve food so its handy if your not wanting to do too much cooking whilst here. Activities and Attractions Nearby
Location is key, and Home Farm is ideally situated to explore a variety of nearby attractions. For beach lovers, Blue Anchor Bay's sandy shores are just a stroll away. Spend your days soaking up the sun, building sandcastles, or taking leisurely walks along the coastline.
For a family-friendly day out, consider visiting the West Somerset Railway for a nostalgic steam train ride through lush countryside, you can see the train go past in the distance whilst pitched up and the station is around a 10-15 minute walk away.
Dunster castle and Minehead are only a short drive away (10-15 minute drive) and well worth a visit and explore, we have been to both on many occasions and always love to visit. Minehead has lovely beaches, some great restaurants, cafes and bakery's, supermarkets and a local independent cinema. Dunster Castle inside and out is great to explore and Dunster village itself is beautiful and has some lovely independent shops, cafes and pubs. See if you can find your way to the childrens park that is near a little bridge and river, lovely for having a paddle and a picnic.
Adventure seekers can also indulge in a variety of outdoor activities like hiking, biking, or even water sports at the beach. With so much to do close by, boredom is not an option!
Summary
Camping at Home Farm in Blue Anchor Bay was calm, beautiful and we really enjoyed the site and always love the local area (my personal highlight was seeing the steam train go past in the distance). Would we stay again? As a couple absolutely, but as a family, we would say that if anything it was maybe a little too quiet. Compared to the likes of The Cotswolds farm park campsite which is pretty much geared towards young families I would say this is (in my opinion ) more geared towards couples that are looking for a quiet get away in a beautiful area, or families just wanting a chill and happy to explore locally. Something worth noting however is that Home farm was pretty much half the price of the Cotswolds farm park site if budget is a factor and again the area and facilities they do have are well maintained and the campsite has a very friendly atmosphere.
